Tucked away in the NEK is the lovely little town of Greensboro. It’s the southernmost town in Orleans County and with about 760 residents, this is one mountain town hidden in VT that is the perfect place to relax. From the lakeside to the mountaintops, the beautiful scenery and friendly folks make this a wonderful destination if you’re looking to unwind. Let’s take a look at Greensboro, shall we?
Rise and shine early enough to catch the sunrise in this beautiful mountain town.
Head over to Willey's Store to stock up on things you'll need for a day at the beach or a hike in the mountains.
Willey's is one of the oldest general stores in Vermont and you can be sure you'll find everything and anything you may need.
Take a hike on the trail around Barr Hill.
When you reach the field at the trailhead there is a sweeping view that's not to be missed.
Barr Hill is the highest point in Greensboro.
You'll love the views at the beginning of the trail, but that's nothing compared to the views from the top! Throughout the hike, you'll see Spruce and Signal Mountains at Groton State Park to the southern Green Mountains, Woodbury Mountain, Camel’s Hump, Elmore Mountain, and Mount Mansfield.
On a warm day, be sure to stop at the public beach for some true rest and relaxation.
End the day with a cold beer at the Hill Farmstead Brewery.
Here you'll find delicious hand-crafted beers made right there in picturesque hills.
And there is no better place to enjoy it than Greensboro.
