Glamping is all the rage these days. We usually don’t mind roughing it here in Texas, but sometimes it’s nice to have an actual toilet and eat food that doesn’t come from a can while enjoying nature. Walden Retreats in Johnson City is the newest retreat in the Lone Star State, and believe us when we say it doesn’t disappoint. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and escape to the wilderness in style. You’ll feel completely refreshed and ready to take the world by storm after your trip, and you’ll cherish memories of the breathtaking scenery forever.
The tents are a cozy 500 square-feet and sleep two adults. Amenities include A/C, a bathroom with a clawfoot tub, a king bed, hardwood floors, a wooden stove, and an outdoor deck with a gas grill and fire pit.
Situated directly on the Pedernales River, you don't even have to leave the property to have a good time! There are 96 acres of hiking and biking trails, fishing areas, canoeing, and plenty of water to swim in.
The idea is to escape reality for a while and return completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Named after the famous book "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau, the retreat's owners believe that much can be learned from nature when we disconnect from the rest of the world and tune into what it has to say.
Walden is in close proximity to a plethora of different Hill Country activities, from wineries to Luckenbach to Enchanted Rock and everything in-between. Enjoy the cities during the day, then return to your safe haven to wind down for the night.
Us Texans are pretty simple. Just give us a campfire, a couple of cold ones, and some good company and we'll be perfectly satisfied. A breathtaking view like Pedernales River offers is just the icing on the cake!
If you're interested in staying here, you'd better start planning your trip ASAP! It hasn't even opened yet (April 19 will be the first day of operation) and it's already booked for the next month.
