Built in the 1920s, Breitenbush Hot Springs is an enchanting hideaway outside Detroit, Oregon.
Located off the grid in the middle of the wilderness, this rustic retreat will take you a million miles away from it all.
There are plenty of healing activities and opportunities for relaxation and renewal around Breitenbush.
Soothing natural hot springs can be accessed from a variety of pools and soaking tubs.
Important note: clothing is optional here.
The spiral tubs are all different temperatures, growing progressively warmer to very hot.
Elsewhere, you'll find a relaxing steam sauna.
This cedar cabin is perched above steaming waters and the steam rises through slots in the floor.
The Sanctuary is a serene space for yoga, meditation, reading, and relaxing.
If you feel like taking a stroll, you can go on a meditative walk to the center of the stone labyrinth.
Between soaks and meals, make sure to explore the impressive network of ancient forest trails that surround Breitenbush.
You could easily escape to Breitenbush for an afternoon or for an entire week. Cabins are available to rent, and delicious vegetarian meals are served in the lodge three times a day.
