The Appalachian Trial is an iconic thru-trek that outdoor enthusiasts from all across the world dream of completing. Of the trail’s 2,181 miles, 544 of them belong to Virginia (more than any other state). And while this may just be considered a section of the Appalachian Trail, many hikers who have had the experience of hiking from one end of Virginia to the next will agree that it’s nothing short of epic.
