Let’s face it, the 1980s were a weird and wild time. Crazy hair, vibrant colors, weird dance moves, and even weirder music made up one of the wackiest decades known to mankind. Well, sometimes it’s fun to reminiscence about this wonderful time. This unique cafe near Sacramento lets you do just that. If you’re one of those people obsessed with everything ’80s, you should plan a visit to this crazy ’80s themed cafe. It could almost be considered a museum to ’80s culture! Take a look.
Are you ready for a blast from the past like you've never experienced? The Back to the 80s Cafe is located in Rancho Cordova off of I-50, at 3084 Sunrise Blvd.
As soon as you walk through the doors, you'll be in awe at the amount of neon. It's almost blinding. The multi-colored dining room is decked out in '80s themed decor from floor to ceiling.
You could spend hours looking over every single bit of memorabilia to be found within the cafe. Back to the '80s was originally created as a collector's shop and only recently expanded into the restaurant side of things, hence the massive amounts of '80s toys and gadgets.
This place really has it all. Movie posters, life-size replicas of famous characters, figurines, and even a Pac-Man machine in the corner.
The cafe was created in the same vein as fast-casual diners from the 1950s. The menu is composed of classic American fare, all with name inspired by '80s culture.
The "Risky Business Burger" is a 1/3 lb. angus beef patty with slice jalapeno, pepperjack cheese, and veggies. With a name like that, how can you resist? They also sell a "Doc Brown Burger", a "Culture Club Sandwich", and a "Where's the Beef Tri-Tip Salad".
On top of burgers and sandwiches, the cafe also specializes in tasty baked goods and milkshakes. Not only is the atmosphere amazing, but the food is pretty dang delicious as well!
Be sure to stop by the collector's shop portion of the cafe after your meal. T-shirts, toys, trading cards, and other collector's items will throw you back in time 30 years!
Some say the '80s are making a comeback. It's hard to dispute that with all of the movie reboots and recurring style trends. Whether or not it's a bad thing is up to you, but one thing's for sure. You're bound to have an amazing time at this unique and "totally tubular" cafe.
