It’s high time for some nostalgia about our favorite foods. Some dishes you can order at any small town restaurant, but other dishes just aren’t right unless they’re made by family. These Kansas style dishes might make you feel warm inside (or just plain hungry) and wishing for the good ol’ days. Everything from snacks to dessert is included, but which are your favorites?
We like chicken a lot, and chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken are both amazing meals you'll find at any Kansas diner that knows their customers.
Or in the evenings! Breakfast for dinner is more common in the Midwest for some reason, but why would people deny themselves pancakes just because it's 5 p.m.?
No matter which name you've grown up with, hamburger, tomatoes, and noodles make their way into this bowl to become goulash. There's plenty of household variants that include other items though!
A slice of sandwich bread toasted, buttered, and covered with cinnamon sugar is the best treat you can get. Bonus points if they heat it in the oven too!
Whether your neighbor has an apple tree or you just have a family member who loves baking, homemade pies are a big part of Kansas diners because we can't get enough of them.
