Stereotypes aren’t fun. Many people assume things about Baltimore that just aren’t true. On the other hand, some assumptions we’re proud to say are correct, including the following 10 things. Check out our list and see if you agree!
1. We're seafood snobs.
We have strong opinions about seafood, especially when it comes to crab cakes. Don't serve us anything less than perfect.
2. We're all Orioles fans...
It's true. We grew up with trips to Camden Yards and no matter how the season is going, we'll always support our O's.
3. And we bleed purple.
True Baltimoreans root for the Ravens. Don't even try visiting the city while wearing a Steelers jersey... trust me.
4. We're crazy drivers.
I wouldn't say crazy but I would say aggressive. With so much traffic and construction, we've gotta learn to be on our toes.
5. We're tough.
You develop a thick skin while living in a city... no matter where it may be. Yes, Baltimore has crime but that's not all there is to it.
6. We're quirky.
Weird. Unique. Eccentric. All words that describe Charm City folks. We're one of a kind, for sure.
7. We put Old Bay on everything.
Yes, we do this and we don't care who knows it. We sprinkle it on seafood, eggs, fries, etc.
8. We may have an accent...
...and maybe our own language, too. "Warsh yer hands in the zinc, hon!"
9. We're drinkers.
With so many great pubs around, who wouldn't want to indulge a bit?
10. We have an abundance of Charm City pride.
We know the city isn't perfect but it's perfect in our hearts. We can talk bad about it but don't let us hear you dissing our home.
