Though Daniella was born in New York and has lived in a couple of other states, Mississippi has been her home for more than 30 years. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi, Daniella began to hone her writing skills through various internships. In the years since, she’s had the privilege of having her articles appear in several publications, such as the Mississippi-based Parents & Kids Magazine. She’s also had the honor of interviewing actress Sela Ward for The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience.
If you’re lucky enough to call Mississippi home, you know there’s a lot to love about the state; however, you also know there are a few things that aren’t so great. Obviously, the good outweighs the bad, but you just can’t shake the feeling of dislike for certain things that come along with life in the Magnolia State. From technology failure to annoying insects, here are 13 things you probably hate if you’re from Mississippi.
1. The hit and miss cell phone reception that comes along with living in a really remote area.
9. When people find out you’re from Mississippi and immediately start citing the “M-I-crooked letter...” chant. (I live here. I know how the state’s name is spelled, thank you very much.)
10. The state’s liquor laws, which, depending on the county, prohibit the sale of alcohol on Sundays or, if the county is completely dry, all together.
