With more than 10 years of experience as a professional writer, Megan holds a degree in Mass Media from her home state of Minnesota. After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
In the center of Hawaii Island, far away from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the resorts surrounding Kailua-Kona and the Kohala Coast is a small town full to the brim with local charm. Home to approximately 9,000 residents, Waimea is one of our favorite small Hawaiian towns. It is in Waimea that you will find sprawling ranchlands and plenty of paniolo history, as well as a remarkable restaurant known for its truly mouthwatering local food. This is Hawaiian Style Cafe, and you’ll want to visit.
Hawaiian Style Cafe is located at 65-1290 Kawaihae Rd, Waimea, HI 96743, and is open from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to noon Sunday.
