In fact, there’s a tiny little coastal town in northwestern Indiana that you’ve likely never heard of – and it might just be the most charming place in the entire state.
Long Beach, Indiana is a tiny town just outside of the larger Michigan City. This "coastal" town in Indiana sits along the stunning Lake Michigan and is part of the ecological masterpiece known as the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
This tiny town was named for the beach it resides on and existed solely as a resort town in the early 1920s. Now, with just over 1,000 residents, this sleepy little coastal town combines lakeside fun with small town charm. The Prairie School style house features mansford roofs and has an unforgettable aesthetic. The Isabel Burnham House and Lowell E. and Paula G. Jackson House join this structure on the list of historic structures in this tiny town.
