Cincinnati is definitely not known for its tropical climate; in fact, we are more known for unpredictability and how we can experience all four seasons in the matter of a week. Each season has its own appeal in the Tristate, but there’s something about summertime and its sunshine and warmth that makes it a favorite. If you’re longing for some of that heat, there is a place you can go in Cincinnati where it feels like summer all year round. Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park is a true gem in our city and a wonderful escape any time of year.
Built in 1933, Krohn Conservatory has been a beloved landmark in Cincinnati for decades.
It's unique Art Deco-style glass walls and ceiling and, of course, the variety of plant life found inside make this a lovely retreat to spend an afternoon. In the warmer months, the property surrounding the Conservatory is just as colorful and vibrant as the inside, but it's the atmosphere indoors that will instantly transport you to summertime, no matter the month of the year.

Krohn Conservatory is known for its seasonal shows and natural beauty that you experience from the moment you walk in the door.
If you visit Krohn right now, you'll get to experience "A Garden of Pure Imagination," (shown in the photo above), which is a candy inspired exhibit and a colorful interpretation of the whimsy of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Just like all of the exhibits displayed here, this season's show is jaw-dropping, vibrant, and fun for all ages. It's a taste of spring in the dead of winter.
You can stay right here in Cincinnati and still experience a desert and a rainforest, just minutes from downtown.
The Conservatory is home to more than 3,500 plant species from around the world, all of which are beautifully placed around a winding pathway through the space.

One of the most magical spots can be found on the far end of the rainforest section, where a waterfall cascades down into a small pond.
The path takes you behind the waterfall, into a cave, and then back out into the humid, authentic, tropical surroundings.

Even if the weather looks like this, with snow and ice surrounding the glass walls of Krohn, summertime can still be experienced once inside.
