It’s usually pretty easy to tell if someone is from Oklahoma. For starters, they are friendly and well-mannered. They know how to have fun and eat good food. They are loyal and show an enormous amount of state pride. So, when an imposter visits the Sooner State we can usually spot them pretty easily. Here are a few more things they might do that will give them away.

1. They ask where the nearest Kroger is located.

2. They order this.

If this is the extent of their meal, you might as well put a big sign on their forehead that says, "California."
3. Instead of this.

4. They don't lend a helping hand.

Oklahomans are some of the kindest people in the world. They are always willing to jump in and help those in need.
5. They go to the liquor store on Sunday.

We all know liquor stores have to close on Sundays in Oklahoma. If you spot someone peering through the window of a liquor store on God's Day, then you know they aren't a true Okie.

You'll spot out-of-towners pretty quickly on this one. We have so many cities that are hard to pronounce, so it's easy to spot an imposter asking for directions.
7. They look like this after being outside.

Every Oklahoman knows if you spend any time outdoors in the warmer months you have to use bug spray. Unfortunately, visitors don't always understand this and suffer greatly.
8. They own garbage apparel like this.

If you're from the Sooner State, you either have Cowboy or Sooner apparel. I think it's actually illegal to wear Texas Longhorn apparel in some businesses in Oklahoma. 🙂
9. They take shelter when the tornado sirens sound their weekly testing.

Almost every city in Oklahoma has a weekly testing schedule for tornado sirens. If you hear the sirens at the scheduled time, and you see someone make a mad dash to the shelter, you know they're not from around here.
10. They don't know how to relax.

We work hard but we know how to sit back and relax. If you spot someone always on the go, chances are they are not from around here.
11. They make fun of cowboy boots.

Don't knock 'em till you try 'em! They are acceptable at all events in Oklahoma, so just get over it.
