Winter is much better when you embrace the possibilities it presents. Sure, some hikes aren’t feasible when the ground is frozen but there are still trails, parks, and fun to be had outside at this time of year. Next time you’re in the mood for a snow day, head to Nashoba Valley where trails and tubing await.
Nashoba Valley is the ideal size to explore in a day. This winter park is located 28 miles — less than an hour's drive —
from Boston.
The park is split into two sections. The tubing park is located at 179 Great Road in Littleton, while the ski area is just down the road at 79 Powers Road in Westford.
The tubing park features fifteen lanes.
Zipping down one is the ultimate winter thrill.
Once at the bottom, you don't even have to slog up the hill for another ride. There are four lifts to bring you back to the top.
Tubers need to be six years-old or 42" tall to take part.
If any family members would rather watch than participate, they can hole up in the lodge, which offers a full-bar and snacks.
Over in the ski area, you'll find trails suitable for all ages and abilities, from beginner to expert.
It's also possible to go snowboarding here.
Nashoba Valley offers a terrain park where you can perfect your skills.
You don't need your own gear. You can rent equipment for either skiing or snowboarding on-site.
Need guidance? Not to worry, lessons are available, too.
Don't let winter weather keep you cooped up. Get outside and breathe in some crisp winter air... in between whooping for joy!
