One of the state’s most naturally beautiful towns is lucky enough to sit in the heart of Ohio’s very own national park. If you’ve never been to Peninsula, Ohio before, you’re truly missing out. The charming village of Peninsula sits in the middle of the stunningly beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It's part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The park was established in 2000. Peninsula was established long ago, in the mid-19th-century, and much of its history has been preserved.
As of 2010, the population of this quaint Summit County village was 565. Today, it's a gorgeous town full of history, natural beauty, and jaw-dropping scenery.
It's the only remaining covered bridge in Summit County and was built in the 19th-century.
The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail runs close to downtown Peninsula, making Peninsula a popular stop for many bikers and hikers, as it is one of the only towns between Akron and Cleveland.
