Camping in the North Dakota winter? Unless you count sitting out in an ice house camping, it’s not a thing many people do or would even consider. But there are ways to camp comfortably during the frigid cold of this season in the Peace Garden State – and it’s better than you could ever imagine. You won’t need to bundle up too much to be able to enjoy this unusual yet luxury-style “glamping” at one of the state’s beautiful state parks. Take a look:
Even in the chill of winter, North Dakota's Fort Ransom State Park has two unusual yet awesome yurts available for reservation. This is a camping experience like no other.
They even have full kitchens and bathrooms. With two bedrooms and a loft that can sleep up to six people, this is perfect for "glamping," or glamorous camping, any time of the year.
While staying in one of these yurts, you can head out onto the park's trails with snowshoes - available for use there - or cross-country skis. Fort Ransom State Park is a beautiful place year round where you can explore the picturesque river and surrounding valley.
Fort Ransom State Park is located near the town of Fort Ransom, North Dakota (which you can read more about here). For more information on the yurts and other awesome camping opportunities at the park, visit this page.
