Missouri is so much more than what a few pictures could convey. However, these shots make up a pretty good snapshot of what you might see in Missouri. Plus….they are pretty amazing captures. Enjoy…
1. Old barns and rural areas.
Missouri is actually an extremely rural state. Scattered throughout the beautiful landscape filled with farmer's fields, beautiful trees, rolling hills, and mountain valleys, you will often come across a scene like this one. On the other hand...
2. Bustling cities.
The two biggest cities in Missouri are St. Louis and Kansas City, but there are several other smaller cities, all full of much to see and do. Pretty much the opposite of most of the state, but definitely something to be proud of.
3. Amazing foliage, gardens, and nature.
Missouri experiences the seasons in a profound way. The spring bursts forth with new signs of life in the flowers and trees.
With fall comes the changing of the leaves, the crispness of the air, and the promise of winter.
4. The "Cave State."
Missouri has over 6,000 caves to explore, small and large.
5. Old train depots.
Pictured here is the old depot in Green City. It was constructed in 1880 on the Quincy, Missouri & Pacific Railroad and has a "sister" depot located just up the road in Milan.
6. Country roads.
Many of Missouri's roads look just like this, with trees lining the sides and with the road curving and dipping in the distance.
7. Beautiful mountains.
This picture was taken from the highest point of Missouri on top of Taum Sauk Mountain, with a view of the St. Francois mountains in the distance.
8. Rivers, bridges and river boat casinos.
This beautiful shot taken on the river in St. Louis captures all three.
9. Historic sites, buildings and towns.
Arrow Rock is a beautiful historical place to visit, but definitely not the only one in Missouri. Not to mention, Missouri has over 2,000 listings on the National Register of Historic Places.
10. Wineries and vineyards.
Missouri has over 100 wineries and vineyards and is fast becoming a contender in the wine world.
11. Trails and state parks.
This picture covers both. Taken on the amazing Katy Trail State Park. There are a multitude of trails and 52 state parks throughout the state.
12. Civil War reenactments.
Missouri has a rich history from the Civil War Era due to its location between the north and the south. It is common for there to be reenactments, like this one that occurred in Dayton.
