The William B. Bankhead National Forest, which is located near Double Springs, covers 181,230 acres and is one of Alabama's four National Forests. It's a popular spot for hiking, hunting, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing and more. Because of its numerous waterfalls, the William B. Bankhead National Forest is known as the "Land of a Thousand Waterfalls."

The Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge in located on Lake Eufaula and covers more than 11,000 acres. Established in 1964, this beautiful refuge's main purpose is to protect a variety of endangered and threatened wildlife species. Weathington Park covers 13 acres and overlooks the Tennessee River. It's located off the beaten path, but its spectacular view makes the journey worth it.
