Chippewa Falls is a community of about 13,000 people in the northwestern part of the state, about 15 miles northeast of Eau Claire. Most well-known as the home of Leinenkugel’s beer, Chippewa Falls sits on Lake Wissota and the Chippewa River and has way more to do and see than you’ve ever imagined. With it’s amazing natural beauty and hidden gem attractions, Chippewa Falls just might be the best place in Wisconsin you’ve probably never been to.
Chippewa Falls is definitely a town built on water. It grew from its location on Lake Wissota and the Chippewa River as well as the lumber industry and a natural spring.
Beautiful Lake Wissota provides so many opportunities for fun in Chippewa Falls. From activities on the lake to things to do around and near the lake, it's certainly the centerpiece of fun.
Spots like Loopy's on the River or The View, pictured here, give a beautiful view of the lake and provide for some pretty stellar outdoor dining options in warmer weather.
Just outside the city is Lake Wissota State Park, but right in the middle of town you'll find Irvine Park. Both are great spots for hiking, cross-country skiing and more to keep you busy no matter the season.
Irvine Park is also home to the city's zoo, which has no admission fee. This beautiful and engaging spot is great for the young and the young at heart.
Of course, Leinenkugel's Brewery is one of the biggest draws to the area. Visit the production facility, hang out at the Leinie Lodge and generally immerse yourself in the feeling of their Northwoods brewery. If beer's not your thing, there are two wineries right outside town that are also well worth the visit.
