This Colorado Roller Coaster Was Just Named The Best In The Country... And You're Going To Want To Ride It
You have ridden the Mind Eraser at Elitches and the rackety old wooden coaster (that feels like it is going to collapse at any given moment) at Lakeside, so you have experienced all of the “thrilling” thrill rides that the Centennial State has to offer, right? You couldn’t be more wrong! In case you didn’t know, Colorado is home to a unique roller coaster that is not only brand new, but was named the Best New Amusement Park Attraction by USA TODAY’s 10 Best!
Located at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is the Haunted Mine Drop, which is billed as being “the first drop ride in the world to go underground, dropping riders 110-120 feet down inside Iron Mountain.” Opened in July 2017, the Haunted Mine Drop was also named one of USA Today’s 12 Most Anticipated Thrill Rides of 2017 and has been compared to the likes of “Disney, Universal Studios and SeaWorld” in terms of quality. Unlike other Colorado roller coasters, the Haunted Mine Drop is enclosed, meaning it is open year round, along with several other of the Glenwood Caverns’ iconic attractions!
