Editors note: Chez Cafe Bubba has primarily closed down. It is currently for sale and hopefully will be under new management and serving up delicious food again soon! In the meantime check out our list of the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Nebraska.
For the most part, you can tell what you’re getting from any of the cafes in Nebraska before you walk in. Whether it’s a rural steakhouse frequented by farmers and ranchers or a polished special-occasion kind of place, you can usually pick up on the vibe before you even go in. That’s not always the case, though, like with the surprising Chez Bubba Café.
Chez Bubba opened in 2011 and since then has won customers’ hearts with its unique blend of country charm and city pizzazz. Whether you live nearby or are just cruising through on your way somewhere else, this is one of those legendary small-town joints that deserves a stop.
Goehner is such a small town that you don’t really need to look hard to find Chez Bubba – but if you need to set your GPS, plug in 1234 May St, Goehner. Kitchen hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
