Tennessee is home to so many incredible people and places that it can seem a little overwhelming. How is one to experience all of the wonderful things that Tennessee has to offer? There are still a ton of truly unique places hiding in our state that even the locals don’t know about. We found some of the most underrated spots in the state so we can all start experiencing more of what Tennessee has to offer. How many have you heard of?
Depending on who you ask, Skullbone is either an unincorporated crossroads in West Tennessee or the capital of the Kingdom of Skullbonia. At the middle of it all is the Hampton's General Store, which is all kinds of quirky, and is definitely worth a visit.
Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville is 32 miles long, but that's not all that's impressive about it. The cave is the home of the Bluegrass Underground, a monthly concert series that takes place in the cave.

The Blue Plum Festival began in 1999, and ever since, it has been drawing folks to Johnson City from all over the country and even the world! It takes place every summer and features local arts, crafts, and foods. Be sure not to miss it.

Memphis is full of exciting and incredible things to see, but the Memphis Zoo is probably the most underrated of them all. The zoo was ranked as the best in America back in 2008, and it hasn't slowed down since.
Ok, so the Ryman is already highly rated, but we still thing it's not getting enough credit for just how cool this space is. There's a reason that playing this venue is on the bucket list of every musician.

Big South Fork National River is one of the most overlooked parks in the state, but it holds some of the most breathtaking beauty. From stunning views of the river to natural stone archways, you'd be hard pressed to find more beautiful scenery in the state.
Located in North Knoxville, Lost and Found is a veritable vinyl Mecca. They've been selling and buying new and used records since 1990, and it's still a go-to spot for any music lover.
This is another one that's already extremely highly rated, but we still think it's underrated. If you haven't been to the Tennessee Aquarium yet, you need to go ASAP. It's one of the best in the world and even had the largest freshwater tank in the world when it first opened.

The Bell Witch Cave in Adams, just North of Nashville, is a creepy but necessary addition this list. When you visit, you'll get to hear the local history as well as the history of the family that was once haunted by the infamous witch.
One of the most obscure but wonderful festivals in Tennessee is located in the town of Lewisburg. It features big country music acts as well as the real stars of the festival, the local fainting goats. Sounds quirky, we know, but we promise that you won't regret going. It takes place every October.
Finally, the little town of Bell Buckle in Middle Tennessee is one of the cutest small towns you'll ever see. It's home to the famous RC Cola and Moon Pie festival, held every June, and the town is full of good Southern restaurants and antique shops.
