In the world of Portland donuts, every shop has something that sets it apart. Voodoo has the funkiest combinations, Blue Star makes a fine brioche, and Doe Donuts serves up gluten-free donuts like no other. Pip’s Original Donuts, however, takes the donut in another direction entirely: they miniaturize it! These donuts are like no other in Portland and you should definitely stop in for a dozen to taste them for yourself.
The busy shop is located on NE Fremont Street.
Founded in 2013, the busy shop serves up donuts and chai tea to the masses.
The mini-donuts are made to order, and loaded with different toppings that really set them off.
Nutella and Sea Salt, Cinnamon Sugar, and Honey and Sea Salt are just a sampling of the flavors.
The Dirty Wu, an everything donut, combines honey, Nutella, sea salt, and cinnamon sugar, and packs a flavor explosion into each tiny donut.
These donuts may be small, but they certainly are good, and its hard to eat just one.
The house made chai tea is part of the experience too, so don't pass on trying a cup.
Featuring five different flavors of chai, these blends are unlike any of the pre-mixed blends served around town.
Featuring blends of a variety of different teas and aromatics like cardamom, ginger, lavender, fennel, cinnamon, and cloves, these chai teas are rich and deep.
With donuts and tea this good, it's not a surprise you rarely find the shop this empty.
Pip's also has a mobile truck that makes appearance at lots of local events throughout the year, so keep an eye out for it when you are out and about.
While you may have to wait in a line to get your donuts...
...you will be happy you made the stop at this unique donut shop with some perfectly delicious donuts.
Pip's Original Donuts is located at 4759 NE Fremont Street, Suite C.
