God bless America and God bless Arkansas! Once you’re anywhere within the Natural State, there’s absolutely no doubt that you are in the good old United States–and that’s just the way we like it.
Of course, this is not to say that Arkansas isn’t open to cultural diversity. (In, fact you’ll that see around here it’s just the opposite.) But people from all walks of life within Arkansas can agree that we’re definitely proud of our country. In the long run, the rest of the country will see. Donald Trump might talk a good game about “making America great again,” but Arkansas was already ten steps ahead of him in keeping this country so awesome!
9. We take pride in our state more than we take pride in our town.
One of the great things about Arkansas is that you'll never find one city or town here that can claim true superiority over another. Of course you have braggarts and those who claim one side of the state is better than the other or one town has the best of something or other, but that's all a bunch of hot air. The truth is, no matter whether you're down in the Delta or up in the Ozarks, you're from Arkansas and that's what counts!
8. Embrace English or get left behind.
This photo of a Walmart in Beijing is drastically different from what you'd find in an Arkansas Walmart...In fact, what you'd find in a California or Texas Walmart is pretty different from what you'd see in Arkansas, too. The majority of Walmart stores across Arkansas do not have department or merchandise signs printed in dual languages. Although the culture of the Natural State has changed drastically over the past few decades, English seems to be the prevailing language here no matter what.
7. We pretty much have the best location in America.
We're in a great place, Arkansas. Sure, we're not on the coast and we don't have the country's biggest skyscrapers, but when it comes to what Americans need, we have it! The Natural State has exports ranging from important food staples such as chicken and rice, (thanks Tyson and Riceland,) to munitions parts needed for weapons that America will hopefully never have to use--but thank God we're here to supply what's needed!
6. People know us because of politicians.
Clinton's first Presidential campaign showed the country that Arkansas wasn't just some spot on the map--we're a proud people with plenty of personality. America got another point of view on how Arkansans operate when Mike Huckabee took a step into the national spotlight--but other Arkansas politicians have also put a face to the state; Little Rock-raised United States Army General Wesley Clark, who was once a Presidential candidate as well.
5. We've memorized the Second Amendment.
Arkansans love their guns, and that's something America's going to have to deal with! Fortunately, you'll find that Arkansas gun owners are largely responsible about how to handle weapons, and many youths around the state are taught gun safety from a very early age. Don't claim that Arkansans don't understand the Constitution. We definitely have to know our rights if we're going to carry a firearm!
4. We stand our political ground.
No matter what side of the political line you stand on in Arkansas, you stand there firmly! It's hard to change the point of view of a Natural State native, because where we come from it's all about backing up what you say by your actions--and there are very many politically active Arkansans who love the freedom given in the United States to legally speak their mind on what's up and what's wrong.
3. It can't be said enough; we gave the world Walmart.
As it's been stated before about Walmart, it's here whether you love it or hate it! America will always have Arkansas to thank for that. No matter where you go around the world, (even if you're speaking with someone who isn't familiar with Arkansas,) they've most assuredly heard of Walmart.
2. We believe in family, food and football.
If you were to sum up Arkansas in three words--"football, food, family"--you'd be making any American proud. Our state is pretty much the ideal for American culture, and we take pride in that! Yes, anyone can take those words and turn them into negative statements against Arkansas, but Americans who know what's true are very aware that Arkansas is very much the heart of the country--and a state that's necessary to the operations of this great nation!
1. We love, cherish and honor our veterans.
Arkansas is full of pride for the brave people who have served our country! Lots of other places around the US can make this claim, of course, but Arkansas proves our love by putting our veterans first. The great soldiers from this state receive a lot of honors at many Arkansas ceremonies and events held not only on Veterans Day or Memorial Day, but year-round!
We could go on all day, America–because Arkansas is just that awesome when it comes to being patriotic. God blessed the Natural State, and God bless the USA! Sound off in the comments about what, in your opinion, makes this great Natural State of ours one of the most patriotic in the country!
