Where can I go winter hiking in New Hampshire?  

New Hampshire becomes something of a winter wonderland when there’s snow on the ground. Year in and year out, citizens can expect much of the same every time winter rolls around: freezing temperatures and lots of snow. You’ll be pleased to learn, however, that just because there’s snow on the ground it doesn’t mean you can’t go on a nice, awesome hike. In fact, we’ve put together a handy list of ten of the best of ‘em, but if you don’t have time to read a whole article, here’s a summary:

• In North Conway, you’ll want to hike Diana’s Baths, which is an incredible series of waterfalls that freeze over in winter.
• Hike Mount Monadnock during winter for the ultimate chilly-weather trailblazing.

What are some fun things to do in the winter in New Hampshire?  

As we said, New Hampshire becomes something of a winter wonderland when the temperatures drop! As a result, there’s always plenty of snow. New Hampshire averages about 68.3 inches of snowfall every year – some years, there’s even more than that! Of course, this means you can do all kinds of fun stuff during winter, like:

• Go ice skating, skiing, or snowshoeing.
• Build snowmen.
• Get into huge snowball fights with the kids.
• Check out any one of New Hampshire’s beautiful small towns that transform into something out of a Hallmark holiday movie, like Portsmouth and Jackson.
• Go on a winter hike, as detailed above.
• Try your hand at ice fishing during the season (which is January 1st through March 31st).
• Take a ride on a ski lift and maybe sled your way down.
