Sometimes, the journey matters more than the destination. Other times, the journey is the destination. The latter is the case for this dreamy road that carves through the loveliest parts of Northeast Ohio. Each trip along its expanse is delightful, and you will be treated to some seriously amazing views. Ready for a road trip? It’s easy to unwind on this winding parkway.
Stretching from the intersection of Detroit and Sloane and traveling southeast through some of the loveliest places in the Cleveland Metroparks, this road offers nearly 25 miles of scenic views.
It begins in the Rocky River Reservation and continues through its 13 mile expanse.
Here, you will drive between Baldwin Lake and Wallace Lake before you descend into a breathtakingly verdant forest. Of course, it is only green and lush during the warmer months, but it is breathtaking year round.
The charming Lorain Road Bridge is an architectural gem that you will encounter on your drive. It demonstrates that man-made wonders are as arresting as natural ones. In the Rocky River Reservation, where this photo was snapped, artificial meets nature in the most spectacular way.
Watching fog roll over fields and forests on a rainy fall day can be just as magical as watching the sunset on a warm summer day. The Cleveland Metroparks dazzle through all seasons and weather conditions.
And, when a fresh snowfall has blanketed the land, this road becomes something truly magical.
If you are feeling adventurous, park at any of the lots along your journey and explore a new trail. In the Cleveland Metroparks, you're never disappointed.

Of course, since you are winding your way through parks, also keep an eye peeled for deer.
The Cleveland Metroparks are full of scenic views that will sweep you off your feet, but sometimes nothing compares to experiencing the scenery from behind the wheel.
