6. Providence Spring, Andersonville
There is something pretty magical about Providence Spring, especially once you hear the story behind it. Legend has it, thousands of soldiers were dying in the fields in the summer of 1864. Conditions were rough and disease spread. Water was non existent. A group fo soldiers banded together to pray for rain and within days a bolt of lightning hit the ground and a spring erupted from the earth. This new water source, which never stopped flowing, was dubbed Providence Spring.
