The World Bird Sanctuary was founded in 1977 by Walter Crawford. His vision was to create a place of care, safety, and rehabilitation for wild birds. Through the years, the World Bird Sanctuary has grown to a 305-acre space and has cared for over 200 species. This is a completely non-profit, community supported haven that works through education and advocacy to protect bird species. It’s also an entertaining and fun place to see and learn about wild birds.
