If you’ve already picked your pumpkins and partaken in a hayride or two, then we’ve got your next autumn adventure right here. The nearby town of Savage, Maryland is the perfect place for a day trip this fall for the following reasons…
Savage is a small town located about 25 minutes from Baltimore. The main attraction here is the old cotton mill turned shopping complex.
This spot features places to eat as well as dozens of charming stores, perfect for early holiday shopping.
There are also a few must-visit sites right next door that are even better during autumn. The Bollman Truss Railroad Bridge is one of the oldest iron railroad bridges in America. Seeing this piece of history up close is fascinating.
After checking out the bridge, walk the easy 0.8 mile Savage Mill Trail.
The journey takes you along Little Patuxent River...
...and past old ruins. This site was a former powerhouse and it's now a favorite spot for urban explorers to snap photos.
If you're feeling extra adventurous, Terrapin Adventures is also nearby. This aerial adventure park offers climbing towers, rope courses, ziplines, and more.
Sure, you could swing on over to this aerial park anytime of year but why not autumn? Seeing the fall foliage from a sky high angle is truly an amazing experience.
