The Quirkiest Town In Kansas That You’ll Absolutely Love

Kansas is home to all sorts of oddballs, weirdos, and their unique attractions. We’ve got a park full of metal dinosaurs, a giant concrete sculpture surrounding a house, and a giant ball of string. However, odd towns are few and far between here. Today, let’s check out one of the quirkiest towns in the state.

Mullinville is a small town in Kansas that's gog a population of around 250. It's been around since 1884, but it definitely wasn't always this strange.

One of their more notable features is the Fromme-Birney round barn, built to house 28 draft horses, but sadly was used for tractor storage soon after it was built.

Other than one of the world's last round barns, you'll see something like this hanging around town. What is this? The art of M.T. Liggett, which is what makes Mullinville weird (in a good way.)

Liggett, who died August 17, 2017, was an American artist who used scrap metal and creativity to make political art that moved in the wind. He's also been featured at the Folk Art Museum in Lucas, another of Kansas' odd towns.

With his help, Mullinville became another oddball on the list of unique and fun Kansas towns to spend a day in.
