Charlotte is known for it’s charming neighborhoods, each with their own unique characteristics and distinct offerings to attract a diverse group of residents. Many of the neighborhoods in our city are near great restaurants, parks, and other entertainment venues, making it easy to walk to dinner, the grocery store, or your favorite concert without having to worry about who’s going to drive. These are our favorite walkable streets in Charlotte:

Running through historic Myer's Park neighborhood, Queens Road is a beautiful street that seems like it keeps going for miles. Giant oak trees line the road, creating an amazing canopy of greenery. Most parts of Queens Road are quiet and safe, where you will find couples walking hand-in-hand, families strolling on a sunny afternoon, or bikers out on a scenic Sunday morning ride.
Perfectly manicured lawns, colorful gardens, and impressive homes fill the landscape and make a great background for an autumn walk. If you turn down Hermitage Road from Queen's Road, you won't be disappointed; Hermitage is just as picturesque and will lead you past the Duke Mansion, an iconic Bed and Breakfast. The Duke Mansion is often used as an elegant wedding venue and for special events, but it is also just a beautiful place to photograph when on a neighborhood walk.

The Plaza is the main residential road through the eccentric Plaza Midwood neighborhood. Plaza Midwood is a tight knit community where neighbors know each other and strangers wave hello in passing. The Plaza is a great street to walk down due to its uniquely styled homes and beautiful gardens.

Fourth Ward is a historic neighborhood in Uptown Charlotte that is known for it's beautiful, colorfully restored Victorian homes that have existed since the 1800s. Each street that runs through Fourth Ward, whether it's Pine, Poplar, or Cedar Street, is unique and has tons of rich history laced into its scenery. In addition to the more historic homes, there are also areas of Fourth Ward that have modern luxury style condos and apartment buildings, which makes the neighborhood appealing to almost any visitor.
Fourth Ward is the one area of Charlotte where horse-drawn carriages still offer rides for tourists, which fits with the romantic charm of the neighborhood. There is a popular walking tour that takes place for those who are history buffs, and there are quite a few lovely restaurants to pop into once you are done exploring.
The park creates a unique landscape of green rolling hills against urban skyscrapers that is purely magical. Even if you just manage to drop by this neighborhood for a short time, it's definitely worth the experience.

Elizabeth Avenue is a charming little street in the historic Elizabeth neighborhood near Uptown. The street is lined with small restaurants, a local creamery, and a small neighborhood grocery. Elizabeth Avenue is the perfect place to go if you are looking to grab dinner and then maybe an ice cream.
Its charm and the amazing restaurant options here make the perfect combination. There is also a charming trolley that runs up and down Elizabeth Avenue during the day and into the evening, carrying professionals and students to and from Center City Uptown.
