1. Bay Minette Public Library - Bay Minette
This library was the old city hall/morgue during the early 1900s. Those who have walked past this library have reported seeing faces looking out the windows and figures moving around.
2. Bankhead National Forest - Lawrence, Winston and Franklin Counties
A woman, who famously went by the name "Aunt Jenny Johnston," lived far out in the Bankhead National Forest. She was quite peculiar. For example, she used a skull to wash her dishes in and would hang trespassers from an oak tree next to her home. She's buried in the family graveyard that's near her home. Supposedly, strange things happen around her home on stormy nights or whenever there's a full moon.
3. Sloss Furnace - Birmingham
At Sloss Furnace, the ghost of a worker who was killed onsite is often seen wandering around.
4. Fort Gaines - Dauphin Island
Many people have reported seeing spooky apparitions wander the premises of Fort Gaines. Supposedly, these apparitions belong to several soldiers who died there.
5. Rawls Hotel - Enterprise
Many years ago at the Rawls Hotel, in Enterprise, a woman was pushed over the stair rail by her lover and died instantly. Many guests have reported that when they reach the second-floor landing, they feel like someone is trying to push them over.
6. University of Alabama Quad - Tuscaloosa
Supposedly, the University of Alabama Quad is haunted by four Civil War soldiers. Also, a man who hung himself in the area haunts the guard shack next to the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library.
7. Forks of Cypress Plantation - Florence
Several visitors of the Forks of Cypress Plantation have claimed to hear singing and voices. The apparition of a woman has also been spotted wandering the grounds.
8. Bass Cemetery - Irondale
Bass Cemetery is more than 200 years old, and it's the final resting place for numerous Civil War soldiers and deceased slaves. At this cemetery, people have reported seeing apparitions and hearing loud screams.
9. Moundville State Park - Moundville
Late at night, the sound of drumming can be heard coming from Moundville State Park, and lights have also been spotted on the top of the larger mounds.
10. Bottenfield Middle School - Adamsville
At Bottenfield Middle School, in Adamsville, the ghost of a young man has been seen wandering around the band and choir wing of the school. Evidently, he appears at any hour and disappears rather quickly.
