I am somewhat a cliche'. I grew up running around barefoot on a farm in Kentucky.
I love writing, art, sunshine, all animals and my incredibly patient husband, who tolerates my "crazy animal lady" side.
Visiting a haunted house in Kentucky can be pretty common during the Halloween season. There are a variety of both man-made, and supposed supernatural places to visit. Some scare seekers look for haunts that offer a real life story behind the home, facility, or area. Others who seek a thrill might prefer some place where the scare is a little more make up oriented.
Depending on the personal preference of those looking for a fright, these 10 possibly haunted locations will do the trick, likely without a treat:
10. The Industrial Slaughter House of Fancy Farm.
Located on 10537 Kentucky Highway 80 in Fancy Farm, there is nothing fancy about it. Instead, it’s said to be one of the scariest attractions in Western Kentucky.
9. Mayhem Mansion and Haverford’s Hollow.
Located at 13966 DeCoursey Pike, this mansion dates back to the days when bootleggers ran the county. The original owner’s daughter passed away back in those days at the age of 8, and the story just gets creepier from there.
8. Baxter Avenue Morgue.
The building at 942 Baxter Avenue in Louisville has some harrowing tales about the former morgue’s owner. People and pets disappeared, and eventually even the morgues owner. In 1932 the owner disappeared, and the building became a tomb in itself. Parts of the story remain untold, but the morgue is now open to the public for tours.

Paranormal investigators have also detected unexplainable occurrences, making the bar infamous across the US.
What could be creepier then at cave? Mammoth Cave on 1 Mammoth Cave Parkway is not only one of the wonders of the world, it's also one of the most haunted. It was used by the Cherokee in the 1700s, and many a person, from tribes to explorers has met their end in one of the intersecting caves.
Old Louisville has been called the most haunted city in America, and with good reason. The majority of the area was built in the 1800’s, and some of the old Victorian residents still remain. Some of the haunts in Kentucky are far more infamous then others, but each one offers thrill seekers a scream, or sharp intake of breath, at the very least. Historically based hauntings hold a special place in the hearts of many for very good reason. The tales told behind the walls can be far more intense then a masked man running about with a chainsaw.
