With the fall season on its way, you’re probably already thinking about what you’re going to do to celebrate the season. And since it’s such a short-lived time in Ohio, now is the time to start planning your autumn adventures. The following are some of our favorite places in Ohio to visit during the fall. They make excellent day trip destinations.
1. Harvest Adventures (Bremen)
With hayrides on Saturdays and Sundays, a corn maze all week long and already picked pumpkins to choose from, you'll fulfill all of your autumn adventures here in just one place. Harvest Adventures is located at 1135 Locust Grove Rd. NE, Bremen, OH 43107.
2. Cuyahoga Valley National Park
If you're in northeast Ohio around peak time, the best place to see the most fall foliage is within Cuyahoga National Park. Grab your camera and hit the trails. 3. Young's Jersey Dairy (Yellow Springs)
With a corn maze, slides and all kinds of fall activities, this family favorite dairy farm makes the perfect fall day trip destination. It is located at 6880 Springfield Xenia Rd., Yellow Springs, OH 45387.
4. Ohio Amish Country
Take your time this fall to enjoy some of the most popular parts of Ohio's Amish Country, such as Sugarcreek, Berlin and Millersburg. There are plenty of delicious restaurants, quaint shops and other activities to enjoy along the way.
5. Dodd's Hillcrest Orchards (Amherst)
With several u-pick apple varieties to choose from, a 4-acre corn maze and a pumpkin patch, the family fun will last all day long at Dodd's Hillcrest Orchards. It is located at 50336 Telegraph Rd., Amherst, OH 44001 and family fun days are from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on the weekends.
6. Historic Roscoe Village
At Roscoe Village near Coshocton, you'll truly feel as if you've stepped back in time. It's a restored 1830s canal town full of fun places to explore. Take a living history tour, check out the shops and take a horse-drawn canal boat ride while you're here. It's simply magical in the fall.
7. Ramseyer Farms (Wooster)
This family owned and operated farm in Wayne County features pre-picked pumpkins, u-pick pumpkins, corn mazes, hayrides and more. Ramseyer Farms is located at 4000 Ramseyer Lane, Wooster, OH 44691.
8. MacQueen's Apple Barn and Cider Mill (Holland)
Family-owned since 1936, this picture perfect apple barn and cider mill is fun for the whole family. You'll also find in-season produce, baked goods, u-pick apples and other activities. From August - October, they're open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. It's located at 7605 Garden Rd., Holland, OH 43528.
9. Loudonville
Tucked away in the heart of Ohio’s Mohican Country, you’ll find the small town of Loudonville. The beautiful town features a gorgeous state park, a quaint downtown, a local museum and a charming mill. Loudonville is especially stunning in the fall time, making this time of year perfect for a day trip here.
10. Brown's Family Farm Market (Hamilton)
After you've picked your own pumpkin and taken a hayride, try to find your way of the maze at Brown's Family Farm Market. It's open seven days a week until the end of October and is located at 11620 Hamilton Cleves Rd., Hamilton, OH 45013.
