While the name can be deceiving, Oktoberfest is one of the largest festivals in the world and is annually held in Munich, Germany during the month of September. However, this beer fueled festival has caught on around the globe with many wanting to celebrate their German heritage or love of German beer in their hometown. People of German ancestry have a strong presence in Missouri and it shows in the amount of Oktoberfests you can find across the state. Celebrate autumn the right way at any of these 12 epic Oktoberfests in the Show Me State.
1. Oktoberfest in the Ozarks - Mothers Brewing Company
Oktoberfest in the Ozarks is held annually at Mother's Brewing Company. This year's event will be held on Sept. 9th. Enjoy great food and live music all day at Oktoberfest in the Ozarks. Find the fun at 215 S. Grand Ave., Springfield.

2. Saint Charles Oktoberfest
On Sept. 22nd through Sept. 24th head to the largest Oktoberfest in Missouri. The St. Charles Oktoberfest is held at Frontier Park and features great events like a bratwurst eating contest, live polka music, a stein raising competition, and much more.

3. Oktoberfest - Kansas City Bier Company
On the west side of the state, you can celebrate Oktoberfest at the Kansas City Bier Company on Sept. 22nd through 24th. Enjoy pretzels, German style beer, bratwurst, polka music and more as the brewery transforms into an authentic German bier hall.

4. Oktoberfest - Anheuser-Busch Brewery
If you're looking for an all out Oktoberfest head to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery from Sept. 28th through Oct. 1st. Try some great German food, enjoy music from German Bands, and drink German beer!

5. Oktoberfest - Urban Chestnut Brewing Company
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company is holding their 7th annual Oktoberfest on Sept. 22nd till Sept. 24th. Enjoy their German style beers along with great food and music all weekend long at the Midtown location, 3229 Washington Ave., St. Louis. 6. Jefferson City's Oktoberfest
The 17th annual Oktoberfest in Jefferson City will be held Sept. 29th and 30th. Celebrate your German heritage or your love of German beer at mid-Missouri's largest and longest running Oktoberfest event. Find the event on West Dunklin, Washington, and Broadway St., Jefferson City.

7. Oktoberfest - Public House Brewing Company
Rolla will also get in on the fun this year with the 7th Annual Oktoberfest at the Public House Brewing Company. Come out on Sept. 30th for beer and wine from around the state plus part of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Community Partnership. General admission is $25. 8. Oktoberfest - The Feasting Fox
The Feasting Fox is an authentic German restaurant in St. Louis. While you can get your German fix at the Feasting Fox anytime their Oktoberfest is a great time for your first visit. Come out on Sept. 21 through Oct. 1st for tons of German inspired events and activities. One of the highlights of the event is the German Inspired Beer and Wine Dinner. 9. Oktoberfest - Westport Kansas City
Westport in Kansas City will hold their first official Oktoberfest on Sept. 29th through Oct. 1st. They will have live music all weekend long and will even feature a lederhosen 5K on Sunday.

10. Oktoberfest and Centennial Celebration - Das Bevo
Das Bevo has a long German history and was built nearly 100 years ago by August A. Busch, Sr. On Oct. 5th through Oct. 8th the new Das Bevo (which formally opened earlier this year) will celebrate 100 years as a St. Louis landmark and Oktoberfest all on one amazing weekend. Join the Beer Choir, try some great food, but most of all enjoy great beer. Das Bevo can be found at 4749 Gravois Ave., St. Louis.

11. Oktoberfest - St. Louis Renaissance Festival
Looking for a totally unique Oktoberfest event? Head to the St. Louis Renaissance Festival on Oct. 7th and 8th. Come out for food, fun, and maybe event a history lesson!

12. Oktoberfest - International Tap House Columbia
The last Oktoberfest of the season will be Saturday Oct. 28th in Coumbia. Head to the International Tap House for great German beer served cold in da boot.
