The Winterthur Point to Point is in May, Apple Scrapple is in October, and there are a million others in between. Attend the State Fair, St. Anthonys Italian Festival, or the Sea Witch Festival. The Nanticoke Powwow is incredible, too! You have got to be a festival-goer if you're a real Delawarean.
4. Climb a Cape Henlopen Observation Tower
Put this at the top of your Delaware bucket list! These World War II era towers still stand to this day, and you've got to take a walk to the top of the one in Cape Henlopen State Park. The best views in Delaware await!
5. Try scrapple
Just don't ask what's in it.
6. Eat at Grotto's
It might not be the best pizza in Delaware, but you've got to put Grotto's on your Delaware bucket list.
7. Get to know the Green
Dover, our capital city, has so much to offer in terms of history, entertainment, food, and nature! Get to know downtown Dover and stroll the green to feel like a true Delawarean.
8. Visit Georgetown on Return Day
This old fashioned celebration came from the days when election results had to be delivered by carriage! It's a great celebration, and a great way to get to know your Delaware politics and history.
9. Paddle Trap Pond
If you only kayak once in your life, make it on this breathtaking lake in Laurel. The baldcypress trees are incredible to see up close!
