Iconic Massachusetts food is not the only thing residents of the Bay State get to enjoy. Living in Massachusetts comes with lots of perks, including a rich history. The site of the Salem Witch Trials, Boston Tea Party, and other landmark events, the state is like a history lesson brought to life. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways residents can immerse themselves in the state’s rich history, from museums to centuries-old cemeteries. Beautiful summers are another perk afforded to residents of Massachusetts. The winters might be brutal, but the summers are sublime. Consisting of warm, sunny days and cool, breezy nights, the summer season in Massachusetts is like something from a dream.

Just like any other state, Massachusetts has its fair share of cons. One of the biggest downsides of living in Massachusetts is the extremely high cost of housing. In fact, the Bay State has some of the highest housing costs in the nation. And then there is, of course, the brutal winters. The season is famous for being extremely challenging, bringing up to 60 inches of snowfall each year and temperatures that fall well below zero. A high population density is another con residents of Massachusetts must face. Though fairly small, Massachusetts is home to about seven million people, equating to a population density much higher than most states.
