The Minnesota State Fair is almost here! In just a few short days, Minnesotans will descend on St. Paul in droves to enjoy live entertainment, people watching, and – most importantly – their favorite fair foods. If you plan on attending the Great Minnesota Get-Together, make sure you save some room for Minnesota’s newest state fair foods. Here’s the rundown on what’s new and where you can find it:
1. Bacon Up Pup
This is a bacon waffle on a stick, dipped in chocolate, drizzled with maple syrup, and served with whip cream and bacon on top. They'll be serving it up at Granny's Kitchen Fudge Puppies outside the Food Building on Underwood Street.
2 .Cranberry Wild Rice Meatballs
If you're looking for something a bit more savory, these meatballs look delicious. They're made with cranberries and a wild rice blend. And, because they're Swedish style, they're served with lingonberry sauce. Find 'em at the Hamline Church Dining Hall on Dan Patch Avenue.
3. Bowl O' Dough
This treat is exactly what it sounds like: a big bowl of cookie dough that is completely safe to eat. It comes in four flavors: brownie batter swirl, chocolate chip cookie dough, European cookie butter, and lemon ricotta cheesecake with blueberries. Try it for yourself at Blue Moon Dine-In Theater on the corner Carnes Avenue and Chambers Street.
4. Breakfast Buddy Bowl
Hash browns, maple syrup, scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon make up this delicious waffle bowl breakfast. It comes topped with a biscuit, sausage gravy, and green onions. You'll find it at LuLu's Public House at West End Market.
5. Brown Ale and Onion-Gouda Tipsy Pie
Doesn't this look mouthwatering? You'll find it at Sara's Tipsy Pies in the Food Building. It's made up of caramelized onions in brown ale, baked in a pie crust with smoked gouda cheese. On top, the pies have onion sugar and a drizzle of sweet beer glaze.
6. Cheesy Nacho Corn on the Cob
It seemed impossible, but state fair corn may have gotten a little bit better. This cheesy treat consists of roasted corn coated with crushed Doritos and nacho cheese. Try it for yourself at Texas Steak Out on Underwood Street.
7. Chocolate Popover with Peanut Butter Spread
Here's another delicious morsel from LuLu's Public House. Popovers are already good, but chocolate popovers? Even better. This one comes with a peanut butter spread, just to remind you that you're at the fair.
8. Deep-Fried Avocado
If you're an avocado fan, this is one you have to try. Crispy batter around smooth avocado? That's sure to be a winner. It's served with chipotle ranch dipping sauce. You'll find it at O'Gara's at the Fair on the corner of Dan Patch Avenue and Cosgrove Street.
9. Sonoran Sausage
This unique sausage is stuffed with pepper jack cheese, wrapped in bacon, and served with corn salsa and avocado ranch sauce. Grab one at Sausage Sister & Me in the Food Building.
10. Cherry Bombs
This sweet treat is made of licorice, making it truly unique among a sea of chocolate and cookie dough. Red licorice is battered, deep-fried, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Find it at Vegie Fries on Dan Patch Avenue.

12. Deviation Stout Steak Taco Naan
The star of this meal is steak, which is marinated in a dark chocolate stout beer. It's topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, queso fresco, and cilantro lime and jalopeño sauces. Then, it's wrapped in a warm piece of naan. Try it at San Felipe Tacos in the Food Building.
13. Honey Puffs
These honey puffs are a simple treat with lots of flavor. The crispy, deep-fried dough is tossed in syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Find 'em at Dino's Gyros on Carnes Avenue.
14. Swing Dancer Sandwich
Between two slices of pumpernickel bread, this sandwich contains honey smoked salmon, cucumbers, capers, and cream cheese. You can try one at the Hideaway Speakeasy in the Grandstand.
15. Double Dose of Pork Belly
This delicious looking treat is made up of ground pork belly burger topped with crisp smoked pork belly. It also comes with pepper jack cheese, coleslaw, and pickled onions served on a toasted bun. Try it out at RC's BQ on West Dan Patch Avenue.
16. Duck Bacon Wontons
If your MO at the fair is to try something new, these duck bacon wontons may be right up your alley. Inside the deep-fried wanton are duck bacon, grilled sweet corn, and cream cheese, served with a tasty dipping sauce. These will be at Giggles' Campfire Grill on the corner of Lee Avenue and Cooper Street.
17. Fall Guy Breakfast Panini
Here's another delicious sandwich that will delight anyone who is a breakfast lover. On a ciabatta bun, capicola and scrambled egg are joined together by melted white cheddar cheese. Delicious. Taste it at the Hideaway Speakeasy in the upper level of the Grandstand.
18. Bacon Fluffernutter
This decadent combination features bacon, peanut butter, and marshmallow cream on a cinnamon bun. You'll find it at the Sandwich Shop on Clough Street.
19. Maple Cream Nitro Cold Press Coffee
This one's not a food, but it's still worth mentioning as one of the newest treats you can get at the fair. At Farmers Union Coffee Shop on the north side of Dan Patch Avenue, grab this nitrogen-infused cold brew coffee with heavy cream and maple syrup. It'll cool you down if things get too hot outside.
20. Sweet Corn Blueberry Éclair
Not your usual chocolate éclair, creative offering is certainly worth a try. The éclair is filled with corn pastry cream and topped with blueberry glaze. Have a taste at Farmers Union Coffee Shop on Dan Patch Avenue.
21. Memphis Totchos
Could this unique combination be Elvis inspired? An order of Memphis totchos will get you tater tots topped with peanut sauce, sliced bananas, and sautéed bacon. It's at the Snack House in the Warner Coliseum.
22. Italian Bomba Sandwich
This sandwich looks like it's packed with flavor. It's made up of pork shoulder with ham, cheese, Italian relish, and aioli on a ciabatta roll. They'll be sold at Mancini's al Fresco on Carnes Avenue.
23. Spicy Thai Noodles
Looking for something spicy? These noodles may do the trick. They're rice noodles with red curry and coconut milk, served with lime, basil, peppers, onions, galangal, and tomatoes. Try it out in the Food Building.
24. Mini Sconuts
At French Meadow Bakery & Cafe on Carnes Avenue, you'll find all kinds of treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. New this year are these buttermilk scone holes. They're filled with chocolate, Nutella, and marshmallow, then deep-fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
25. Mobster's Caviar
This refreshing fair food is at the Hideaway Speakeasy in the Grandstand. An order of Mobster's Caviar will get you whole wheat flatbread crackers topped with cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, and water chestnuts.
26. Pie'n the Sky Malt & Sundae
Doesn't this look delicious? At Dairy Goodness Bar in the Dairy Building, you can get this as either a malt or a sundae. Both contain spiced cookies and lemon curd with a drizzle of chocolate.
27. Sweety's Churros
These churros are a little different than usual, and that's what makes them so special. They're made of sweet potato, cinnamon, and nutmeg dough. The dough is deep-fried and served with chocolate, maple brown sugar sauce, or whipped cream. Try one at Potato Man and Sweet on Liggett Street.
28. Pizzarito
Is it a pizza? Is it a burrito? Either way, it's bound to be delicious. This concoction is a tortilla filled to the brim with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mozzarella, marinara, and risotto. Then, it's covered in garlic butter and parmesan, baked, and served with marinara. Try a pizzarito at Green Mill on Cooper Street.
29. Slow-Roasted Pork Mole Tamale
This corn tamale consists of pork, mole sauce, and a relish made up of black bean and pineapple. You can get one at Tejas Express in the Garden.
30. Wild Bill's Breakfast Bake
Also at the Blue Barn at the West End Market, this breakfast bake looks full of flavor. Its main ingredients are scrambled eggs, chorizo, and roasted chicken. These are topped with salsa, lettuce, pickled red onions, and cilantro.
