1. Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge

Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refgue is one of the most important stopovers on the Atlantic Flyway for migratory birds. You'll see snow geese here by the dozen, herons all summer long, and plenty of other rare wildlife. The park is easy to drive through, with viewponts along easy to stroll boardwalks along the way.

2. Cape Henlopen State Park

The dunes of Cape Henlopen are one of the most scenic Delaware scenes you'll find. From the view of the lighthouses to the World War II towers on the sand, it's hard to imagine any more interesting landscape in the state.

3. Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge

While it's a little less recognized than Bombay Hook, Prime Hook National Wildlidfe Refuge is just as incredible to visit. Spot foxes, red knots, herons and best of all, unbelievable sunrises and sunsets.

White Clay Creek State Park is an oasis right in the middle of New Castle County. This underrated state park is gorgous in all four seasons, and the trails are well maintained. Walk around this park just before dusk and you'll be rewarded with incredible light.

7. Trap Pond State Park

Trap Pond State Park is a paddler's dream. This bald cypress swamp is unheard of at our latitude, so it really is a wonder. Rent a boat or drop in at any of the park's boat launches and enjoy Delaware's most interesting pond right from the middle of it.
