5. Shady River Getaway
Located near Pocahontas, Shady River Getaway is set on the banks of the Eleven Point River, on of Arkansas’s least developed and best preserved rivers. They’ve got lovely little cabins where you can stay, a gorgeous river for a lazy float, and activities the whole family will love.

6. Mount Magazine
The highest point in Arkansas really is a sight to behold, and the lodge there has some of the best views in the state. 10. Heber Springs

Heber Springs is a great little town where you can while away the hours, most notably because of its proximity to Greers Ferry Lake. Greers Ferry Lake has a lovely sandy beach, lots of swimming areas and room for boating. Red River emerges from Greers Ferry Lake, and it offers some of the best trout fishing in America. Combine those waterways with the charm of Heber Springs, and you’ve got a winning getaway.

11. Haw Creek Recreation Area
If you’re into rustic camping in the summer, wait for a cool day and try the campground at Haw Creek Recreation Area. You can hear Haw Creek Falls all night and even see the falls from some of the campsites. You can also swim in Haw Creek and hike to the two other waterfalls in the area.
