There are so many beautiful beaches in Florida, it can be hard to choose which one to visit next. The beach is pretty much a universally beloved destination, so it’s usually hard to keep a good beach secret. This beach on Florida’s Space Coast is absolutely beautiful, not terribly well known, and it also holds a secret of its own.
Playalinda Beach, which is Spanish for "beautiful beach," is located on a barrier island within the Canaveral Natural Seashore, one ofthe most gorgeous stretches of beach in the state.
There are plenty of beautiful beaches in the Sunshine State, but this is one of the few gorgeous unspoiled stretches of beach.
Unbelievably, Playalinda is still largely undiscovered by the rest of the world, so you can still enjoy a lovely uncrowded beach day here.
This beach isn't just scenic, it's full of wildlife and natural beauty.
One thing that has to be mentioned is the beach's reputation as clothing optional. Although it isn't technically legal, the northern side of Playalinda has a longstanding tradition of being a nude beach (specifically lot number 13, but sometimes even a couple of lots nextdoor). They are typically harmless areas, but it's good to know so that you don't wander onto them unexpectedly.
The beach has no facilities except for a few port-a-potty style bathrooms,so you have to bring whatever food, water, etc., you might need during the day.
While you're in the area, you can also explore the nearby Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge for an outdoor adventure.
Playalinda Beach is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with an admission cost of $10 per vehicle per day.
Have you ever visited Playalinda Beach? What’s your favorite little-known beach in Florida?
