1. Strawberry Festival
The Strawberry Festival takes places in the heart of downtown Belleville. There will be delicious strawberry pies, jams, cakes and anything else that can be made with strawberries. The festival takes place each year in June.
2. Michigan Summer Beer Fest
Beer's a food right? Check out more than 100 Michigan breweries showcasing over 1,000 different craft beers. Don't worry; there will be plenty of food to fill up on if you've had too much to drink. The festival is located at the Riverside Park in Ypsilanti and takes places on July 22-23.
3. National Cherry Festival
If you head Up North during the Fourth of July week, don't miss the National Cherry Festival going on in each year in Traverse City. Try a delicious cherry pie, buy cherry jams, and try to beat the world record at the Cherry Pit Spit Contest.
4. Cheeseburger in Caseville
Who doesn't love cheeseburgers? On August 14-23, Caseville, Michigan has a Jimmy Buffet-themed festival that is literally all about the greasy burger. There will be a Best Cheeseburger Contest, a Cheeseburger Fun Run and tons of other fun activities.
5. The Soul Food Festival
Bring your friends and family to The Soul Food Festival where there will be endless amounts of soul food dishes with fried chicken, fried fish, cornbread, collard greens and more. There will also be great entertainment. The festival will take place at Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit on August 6-7.
6. Great Lakes Food, Art & Music Festival
This festival takes over Campus Martius Park in Detroit during July 28-30. There will be a bunch of vendors cooking up some of Detroit's finest foods, exhibitors showcasing their art and special guest Eddie Money singing his classics. Don't miss it!
7. Michigan Jewish Food Festival
The Jewish food festival takes place at Eastern Market and invites Detroiters to learn about the culture and traditions of Judaism and the ways you can make healthier choices when it comes to what you eat. There will be a number of kosher dishes to try and purchase. The festival will take place on August 27.
8. Ribs and RnB Music Festival
The Ribs and RnB Festival is an awesome event that will have live RnB music and an array of food vendors. There will be tons of ribs to chow down on so come hungry. It will take place at Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit on August 11-13.
