Why eat at just any restaurant, when you dine in a haunted 1864 Victorian house that now houses one of Denver’s best Nepalese restaurant? If you dare to dine at Yak and Yeti in Arvada, you’ll enjoy historic surroundings, delicious food and handcrafted beer. You just might have to share your space with one of the restaurant’s ghosts…
Yak And Yeti is located at 7803 Ralston Road in Arvada. This historic 1874 Victorian home has a long history.
The original home was just one story, surrounded by farm land; a second story was added in 1891. New owners Elias and Cora Van Voorhis purchased the home and expanded it further. However, Cora died after falling down the stairs in the 1940s.
Cora's ghost is said to haunt the restaurant today. She is occasionally sighted by visitors and staff.
Other paranormal activity includes moved objects, voices, strange clicking sounds, flickering lights, doors closing on their own, and chilly spots. Cora's uncle, who also once lived in the house, may also haunt the house. He is seen in the dining room and may be responsible for some of the noises and moved objects.
