It’s no secret that Colorado is home to numerous small towns… but have you ever taken the time to stop in and stay awhile? It may be hard to do this with every single town, but we highly recommend doing it with this unique community that is truly anything but ordinary:
Located in south central Colorado, Antonito is a small town of just over 700 that may sound tiny, but packs a punch in terms of friendly residents and fascinating attractions.
Incorporated in 1889, San Antonio Junction was originally a sheep herding camp that changed its name to Antonito upon the arrival of a Denver & Rio Grande Railroad line, which provided many new jobs for the area.
